This is the first of two drawings of Yohko that I drew on a shaky bus in central Japan last summer (2000), when I and some fellow students of me was on a two-day excursion to Kyoto as a little break from our language-studies. It was hot as usual, but inside the bus it was cool and comfortable and, apparently, I was in a rather good drawing-mood, because I think the drawing came out very nicely. I have to say though, that the original drawing had much richer colours but much of that got lost in the scanning - for example, the original had more than the double amount of visible waves on the water, and her swimsuit was a stronger tone of red - not pink. Well, perhaps that is a price one has to be prepared to pay, scanning something. Anyway, the end result looks pretty nice, I must say, and I hope you agree.
